Ateneo’s 3-Peat! Thanksgiving Mass

It’s already 12:30 am and I’m still wearing jeans and this sweaty shirt I wore to mass. So I’m gonna make this quick. I just really have to blog about it because this is such a big deal right now! HAHA

My Alma Mater, Ateneo, won its third consecutive UAAP Senior Basketball (Men) Championship crown (2008, 2009, 2010). Thanks to the internet, I was able to keep myself updated even though I was in the office this afternoon. When we finally won, I ran home and then went to the Gesu with Yaya Nel (who’s such a big fan na now!) and my sister, Vochelle.

I was scared during the game, but I believed that we can win it already. Seriously, I kept praying. It was really intense, with Ateneo being far behind during the first quarter and the lead continuously switching all throughout the second half. But teamwork is something that the Blue Eagles know very well. Walang buwa-buwaya!

Ryan Buenafe played really well, I remember back in 2007 (he was still in high school) during the mass held after we lost that very important game against DLSU ( which made us lose our chance to play at the finals) he was also there, which kinda signified his commitment to be part of the team. Then, he won Rookie of the Year come 2008! 😀

As always, the thanksgiving mass was symbolic as it brought together a community of Ateneans–and it didn’t matter whether you’re still a student, part of the alumni, part of the faculty/staff, or just an avid fan. It felt absolutely great to lift this victory up to the Lord. ❤ (Photos)

YEY! So there’s gonna be a Bonfire Celebration on Sunday! (At the AGS/Irwin Theater Parking Area, like last year) I was hoping that it will be at the Bel Field cos it feels more appropriate for such an event, but it’s too risky to hold it there because it might rain again and it might be muddy bonfire 2008 all over again!

Look, back in 2008 (TWO YEARS AGO!!!) (when we won against the archrival!)

HAHAHA, yes, it was that muddy and we stayed in line the whole night just so we could get the players’ autographs! haha fan girl moments with my college sister, Mea 🙂 ❤
